Dangerous Goods - (D) Endorsement

A Dangerous Goods (D) Drivers Licence Endorsement is needed for the transportation of dangerous goods by road. (Renewable every 5 years)

Gain the knowledge and skills required to transport Dangerous Goods safely by road. Our courses are designed to improve operator skills (drivers, dispatchers, loaders & handlers), knowledge, safety awareness and the correct procedures for handling and transporting dangerous goods, legally and safely.

We offer the following courses:

D Endorsement (new):

Dangerous goods for transport on land include substances and articles that have explosive, flammable, toxic, infectious, corrosive or environmentally hazardous properties, and containers that have held dangerous goods. If you have never held a D Endorsement on your licence, this is the course you need to attend. Pre-requisite: You must hold a minimum of a restricted NZ Class 1 driving licence to attain this endorsement.

D Reval:

The D endorsement requires a refresher every 5 years for the certificate to remain current. For this you will need to attend a D Reval Course. This is a half day course, for renewal of a current or recently expired (less than 12 months) D endorsement.

What happens next?

After successful completion of the theory and practical assessments, Candrive will issue you with a NZTA certificate for the D Endorsement or D Revalidation. Take it to your local driver licencing agent (AA or VTNZ) and apply to have it added to your driving licence. Please note that this MUST be added to your licence within 60 days of issue.

You are now able to transport dangerous goods by road and after approximately 10 days you will receive your new photo licence in the mail.
